For years we have been fed with the belief that we need more - more clothes, more accessories, more food, beauty products, decorations, furniture - and that this is what is best for us. We are surrounded by a lot of items that we don't need, and their quality leaves much to be desired: as a result, we still have to buy more, falling into the trap of consumerism.
While waiting for a baby, it's easy to fall into shopping madness: everything is delightfully beautiful and seems crucial, but do we pay attention to the quality of the thing we want to wrap our baby in after birth? Do we think about how long it will serve us and how it will affect the environment?
With children, less is more, not only in terms of ease of cleaning, organized space and saving money, but also due to concern for the ecology and paying attention to how fast fashion brands operate. And the point is not to completely boycott shopping in popular chain stores and buy only from local and luxury producers - because the majority of the population simply cannot afford it - but to make our consumer choices prudent and smart, and thanks to this, high-quality items at affordable "second-hand" prices find their way into circulation.

Many things in the layette are for a while: clothes, care accessories, toys. We cannot avoid it, but you can plan your shopping in order to choose basic things that will stay with your child for a long time - then investing in such an item, which is actually reusable, makes sense.
