DESCRIPTION
Find out where you can get to school by cable car and where you sleep on the stove. Find out why children in Ethiopia do not bear their parents' surnames, little Japanese people collect beetles, and Italians call bread a slipper.
The book Children of the World Like You is a fascinating look at cultural differences through the prism of children living in different parts of the world. They live in very different conditions, eat various local specialties, speak different languages and dress differently. In addition, what is a sign of good manners in one place may be rude or offensive elsewhere - such as slurping while eating or stroking the head. How to get the hang of it?
A lot of practical and attractively presented knowledge can be found in the book Children of the World Like You. Reliable information about lifestyle in different regions of the world has been collected here: what do different children believe, what do they eat, where do they sleep? What does their family, home and school look like, what animals do they keep, what do they do in their free time and what are the customs in their communities? A dictionary of basic words and phrases in several languages is also very useful.
The book Children of the World Like You teaches us to admire what makes us different. It helps you understand that ''different'' means great, develops sensitivity, arouses curiosity, teaches tolerance, encourages openness, and makes you realize that differences make the world more interesting. Moreover, we have a lot in common, we live on one planet - the Earth is our common home and we must take care of it responsibly.
